How to be a teacher? Chain

Doubly tagged by my friends and bloggers Mathieu Disparitus , I can not wait.

In this case, contrary to the view of the privilege, a question of education is dear to me.
Not only because I am a father, I was already interested in the issue well before that. As the son of immigrants, the School of the Republic has always symbolized to me eyes, the vector of equality, one that compensates for the deficit due to a place of birth, socio-cultural environment unfavorable.

For several years, rage I found that the School of the Republic is down . Successive governments of left and right are locked in an endless hypocrisy, prisoners of ideologies unproductive, wishing this or that for the National Education but obviously preferring to put their own offspring in training elite.

Today, nepotism in full swing. To get a coveted position, an interview or another, the CV is no longer an illusion. Better to have an address book fully stocked.

Therefore, in this context, I am asked to define:

A. A "good teacher" in 5 words

Inspired: it is true that it is harder to feel interested in a subject when the teacher himself looked bored farm.

Demanding: with himself as with respect to its students. This is a disservice than to negotiate a level of knowledge.

Pedagogue: know is well know, is even better.

Brave: not to be easily discouraged by adversity because of adversity, there a.

Attentive: a good teacher is a teacher who is genuinely interested in the fate of his students, beyond its single subject, beyond the single year.

B. What teachers should learn

A teacher has to develop throughout his career:
  • in the material he teaches
  • on teaching techniques
  • in techniques of human relations (relations with parents, personal development, maintenance of discipline, psychological approach to student ...)
C. To make a prof ... what is learned, which can not be learned

experience necessarily contributes to the improvement and development of professional qualities like all professions ... a teacher is seldom fully operational from the first day of work.
